Project Little Soldier Toy Drive

Boonton, NJ, December 2, 2009

Bridget Connor, owner of Lotus Boutique in downtown Boonton, NJ, will host a toy donation drive from today until Sunday, December 12 called “Project Little Soldier Toy Drive.” It’s the most important time of the year to show support to our brave and heroic military families.

For “Project Little Soldier,” all toys will be donated to the sons and daughters of soldiers who are deployed oversees over the holiday season. Each military family has supplied a wish list of two gifts for each of their children. Come to Lotus Boutique at 908 Main Street and help Connor make each of these kid’s dreams come true.

Connor is working with the New Jersey based charity, American Recreational Military Services (A.R.M.S.), which administers and oversees the toys drive. A.R.M.S. is a non-profit founded in 2003, that provides services to local armories in the New Jersey region—it supports the Family Readiness Groups, provides monetary and food assistance to family members in need, and works with local military bases to improve the quality of life for both soldiers and their families.

A.R.M.S. will wrap and gift two toys per child and sign it “Love Dad” or “Love Mom,” depending of course on which parent is deployed overseas.

“Project Little Soldier” calls for current themed toys, including Arts and Crafts items, Dora the Explorer, Baby Dolls, Bakugon, Pokemon, Barbie, Tanka Trucks, and Moxie Dolls. All toys are for children age newborn and up.
